Fresh parsley
Description
Fresh parsley is intensely green, with delicate leaves that have a fresh, slightly peppery and herbal flavor with a hint of citrus, adding freshness and a pleasant aroma to dishes. It resembles small, crinkled leaves of a juicy color, often used as a garnish or flavoring ingredient served raw or cooked. It is low in calories, rich in vitamins A, C, and K, folic acid, iron, and antioxidants, which support immunity, bone health, and the body's detoxification processes. In the kitchen, it pairs well with soups, salads, sauces, fish and meat dishes, and as an addition to parsley sauce, pestos, and marinades — enhancing the flavor and freshness of dishes. It is best stored unwashed, wrapped in a damp paper towel in an airtight container or standing in a glass of water in the refrigerator; it can also be finely chopped and frozen with olive oil for longer storage.
