Coconut oil (solid)
Description
Coconut oil (solid) has a delicate, coconut-associated, slightly sweet aroma and a smooth, creamy texture in its solid state, a white-pearl color when cooled, and a clear liquid when melted. The taste is subtle, not overwhelming dishes, adding a tropical note. It is an energy fat with a high content of saturated fats, with a significant proportion of medium-chain fatty acids (MCT), including lauric acid, which can provide a quick source of energy and exhibit certain antibacterial properties; due to its high caloric content, it should be used in moderation. In the kitchen, it is suitable for frying, baking, pastries, Asian dishes, and coconut curries, as well as a vegan substitute for butter or an addition to smoothies and desserts. To maintain quality, store the oil in a sealed container in a cool, dark place away from heat sources; at lower temperatures, it may become solid, which is natural and does not affect its quality.
