Ground chili pepper

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Ground chili pepper is an intense, red powder with varying heat levels, from mild and slightly sweet to fiery and smoky, with an aroma dependent on the variety and degree of drying. In texture, it is fine and sometimes contains small bits of skins and seeds, which add texture and depth of flavor. As a spice, it has few calories but is a source of vitamin C and carotenoids (vitamin A) as well as valuable antioxidants. The capsaicin it contains may support metabolism, relieve pain, and have anti-inflammatory effects, although it can cause irritation in sensitive individuals. It pairs perfectly with meats, sauces, Mexican and Asian dishes, soups, marinades, and flavored oils, enhancing the taste of dishes. Store in a sealed, opaque container in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture; best used within 6–12 months for full aroma.
