Smoked paprika (for sprinkling)
Description
Smoked paprika is a finely ground powder with an intense, warm red color and a deep, smoky aroma, available in sweet and hot varieties. The flavor combines the natural sweetness of the pepper with a pleasant hint of smoke that enhances dishes without overpowering their composition. It is used as a garnish just before serving to preserve its aroma. Nutritionally, smoked paprika is low in calories, rich in vitamins A and C, as well as carotenoids and antioxidants, and the hot varieties provide capsaicin, which has anti-inflammatory and metabolic effects. It pairs well with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, soups, ragù, eggs, and dips, as well as marinades and dry spices. Store it in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry, and dark place, away from moisture and heat sources; it is best used within 6–12 months to maintain its full aroma.
