Pasta z guawy

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Guava paste is a thick, smooth mass with an intense, fruity aroma that combines sweetness with a subtle tartness; its color ranges from pale pink to deep ruby, and its consistency resembles jam or a blocky paste, sometimes free of small seeds after straining. It is a concentrated product often sweetened, which is why the flavor can be very juicy and aromatic. Nutritionally, the paste retains most of the vitamins and antioxidants of guava, particularly high levels of vitamin C, fiber, and lycopene, as well as potassium; due to the added sugar, it is more caloric, but it can support immunity, digestion, and the body's antioxidant functions. In the kitchen, it works well as a filling for cakes, cookies, and empanadas, an addition to cheeses, a glaze for meats, or an ingredient in sauces or cocktails. Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to a few weeks or portion and freeze for longer storage, always using clean utensils to extend freshness.
