Roasted pumpkin seeds
Description
Roasted pumpkin seeds have a pleasant, slightly nutty flavor with a distinct roasted note and a crunchy texture; visually, they are flat, greenish on the inside with a golden, slightly toasted skin after heat treatment. They are a rich source of plant protein, unsaturated fatty acids, fiber, and minerals such as magnesium, zinc, and iron, as well as vitamin E and antioxidants, which support heart health, the immune system, hormonal balance, and may help regulate blood sugar levels and improve sleep due to tryptophan. In the kitchen, they work well as an addition to salads, soups, muesli, bread, pesto, or as a crunchy topping for vegetable dishes and yogurts, as well as a standalone, satisfying snack. They should be stored in an airtight container, in a cool, dry place away from light; for longer freshness, it is advisable to keep them in the refrigerator or freeze them to prevent the fats from going rancid.
