Nut topping
Description
Nut topping is a mixture of finely chopped or ground nuts (most often walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, or cashews), sometimes with the addition of sugar, salt, or spices. It has a distinct, slightly toasted aroma and a crunchy, grainy texture with a golden color that adds both flavor and decorative finishing to dishes. Nuts provide healthy monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, protein, fiber, as well as vitamin E, B vitamins, and minerals such as magnesium, potassium, and zinc, which support the cardiovascular system and metabolic functions; however, it is important to remember their high caloric content and use them in moderation. The topping pairs well with yogurts, oatmeal, salads, desserts, ice creams, cakes, and roasted vegetables, as well as serving as a crunchy addition to sandwiches. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, preferably in the refrigerator or freezer for longer freshness, with the date of opening.
