Kłodawa uniodized salt
Description
Kłodawa uniodized salt is a natural rock salt from the Kłodawa mine with a pure, distinctly salty taste and a fine or coarse grain structure, usually white to slightly gray in color with trace mineral inclusions. The main component is sodium chloride; it contains virtually no calories or macronutrients, but provides sodium essential for maintaining fluid balance and nerve conduction. The lack of added iodine means it is not a source of this element, and individuals needing iodine supplementation should opt for iodized salt or supplements. In the kitchen, Kłodawa uniodized salt is excellent for curing, preserving, fermenting vegetables (e.g., pickling), preparing brines and marinades, and for salting meats and fish, where iodine additives can disrupt fermentation processes. To maintain its texture and purity, store in an airtight, dry container away from moisture and strong odors, in a cool and dark place, using a dry spoon to avoid clumping.
