Fresh berries
Description
Fresh berries, such as strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries, are characterized by their intense color, juicy texture, and balanced flavor ranging from sweet to slightly tart, often with a delicate earthy note. They are rich in vitamin C, fiber, vitamin K, and antioxidants (especially anthocyanins), which support the immune system, heart health, reduce inflammation, and positively affect digestion and weight control. In the kitchen, they pair wonderfully with desserts, salads, yogurts, oatmeal, smoothies, sauces, and baked goods, as well as with cheeses and meat dishes as a flavor contrast. For storage, the best option is the refrigerator in a perforated container; wash the fruits just before consumption, and gently covering them with a paper towel reduces moisture. For longer storage, you can freeze the fruits spread out individually on a baking sheet and then transfer them to bags.
