Description

The 'Fruit Explosion' cocktail is a refreshing, fruity drink with an intense sweet-and-sour flavor and creamy consistency. The combination of freshly squeezed orange juice, pineapple juice, ripe banana, natural yogurt, and a mix of berries creates a vitamin-rich, visually appealing drink with a deep red-orange color. Perfect as a non-alcoholic cocktail for New Year's Eve 2025 — it can be served in bowls, cocktail glasses, or as a base for a sparkling version with the addition of prosecco. It has a pleasant creaminess (thanks to the banana and yogurt), a distinct fruity acidity (lime, pineapple), and striking accents (frozen berries). Served chilled with ice cubes and mint leaves, it looks very impressive and works great as a party drink or a refreshing addition to the New Year's menu.

Preparation steps

Preparation of ingredients

1

Prepare all the ingredients and tools: a blender (min. 1.5 l), a measuring cup or measuring jug, a knife, a cutting board, a citrus juicer, a strainer (optional), a serving jug, and glasses or bowls. Take the frozen fruits out of the freezer and set them on the counter for about 8-10 minutes to slightly thaw — they should not be completely soft, just enough to blend easily in the blender.

Ingredients: Frozen berry fruits, Lime juice
Use a blender with a minimum power of 600 W for a smooth consistency. If you don't have a juicer, press the lime manually through a small sieve to remove the seeds. Don't leave the thawed fruits for too long — 10 minutes is enough.
2

Prepare the banana: peel it and cut it into slices about 1 cm thick. This will make it easier and quicker to blend the banana until smooth. Measure out natural yogurt (200 g) and set it aside in a bowl.

Ingredients: Banana, Natural yogurt
Use a sharp knife and a stable cutting board. Cutting the banana makes blending easier and prevents larger chunks from forming.

Mixing

3

First, add the frozen berries (200 g) to the blender, then add the banana slices (120 g), pour in the orange juice (600 ml) and pineapple juice (300 ml), add the yogurt (200 g) and lime juice (60 ml). Finally, add the ice (300 g). Thanks to this order: the heaviest ingredients at the bottom and the liquids on top, the blender will work more evenly.

Ingredients: Frozen berry fruits, Banana, Orange juice, Pineapple juice, Natural yogurt, Lime juice, Ice
Use a jug blender. If you have a smaller blender, blend in batches (e.g., in 3 portions). Do not fill the blender above the maximum line indicated by the manufacturer.
4

Blend on high speed for 50-70 seconds until everything is smooth and there are no visible pieces of fruit. During blending, stop the blender after about 30 seconds and shake the jar to redistribute the ingredients, then continue blending.

Ingredients: Frozen berry fruits, Banana, Orange juice, Pineapple juice, Natural yogurt, Ice
Set the blender to the 'smoothie' program if available. The smooth consistency should be slightly creamy, not watery — if it is too thick, add 30-60 ml of orange juice and blend for another 10 seconds. If it is too watery, add 30 g of frozen fruit and blend again.

Seasoning and sweetening

5

Taste the cocktail with a teaspoon. If the cocktail is too sour or not sweet enough for your taste, add 10 to 30 g of honey or sugar syrup (optional) and mix well — remember that prosecco (if added) will also soften the sweetness. If you want to keep it 100% vegan, use agave syrup instead of honey.

Additional sweetener has not been added as a basic ingredient to maintain the natural fruitiness. If you are adding sweetener, do so gradually and taste after each addition.

Optional sparkling version

6

If you want a sparkling version: carefully pour the finished cocktail into a large pitcher or directly into glasses in a ratio of 2:1 (cocktail : prosecco). For example, for one serving, pour about 150 ml of the cocktail and top up with 50 ml of cold prosecco to achieve a lightly sparkling, elegant consistency.

Ingredients: Prosecco
Add prosecco just before serving to ensure the foam and bubbles are intense. If serving in glasses, pour the cocktail first, then slowly add prosecco along the side of the glass.

Serving and decoration

7

Prepare the glasses or bowls. Strain the cocktail from the blender through a sieve into a jug or directly into the containers to remove small seeds or larger pieces of fruit (optional). Decorate each glass with a sprig of fresh mint (1/6 of a bunch = about 5 g per glass) and a few whole berries on top.

Ingredients: Fresh mint, Frozen berry fruits
Use a fine sieve if you want a very smooth texture. For serving on New Year's Eve, tall glasses or cocktail glasses work great — choose chilled glass.

Serving

8

Serve immediately after preparation, when the cocktail is cold and fresh. If you are preparing a larger quantity in advance, keep it covered in the refrigerator for a maximum of 2 hours and stir before serving. Always add the prosecco version at the very end just before serving.

Do not freeze the finished cocktail again — it will lose its consistency and flavor. Best serving temperature: 4-8°C.

Fun Fact

💡

Fruit cocktails with sparkling wine became popular in the 20th century as a light alternative to heavier drinks — combining fresh juices and bubbles creates a stunning, festive beverage.

Tips

🍽️ Serving

Serve the cocktail in chilled glasses; for a festive New Year's effect, add edible glitter sprinkles to the rim of the glass (optional). Serve the sparkling version without ice in champagne flutes, while the non-alcoholic version should be served in tall glasses with ice cubes.

🥡 Storage

Store in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed pitcher for a maximum of 24 hours, but it's best to consume immediately. Do not add prosecco before storing — it will lose its fizz. When chilling again, gently stir before serving.
