Preparation of ingredients

Wash the apples and pear under running, cool water for about 30-60 seconds each, rubbing the skin with your hand or a soft vegetable brush to remove wax and dirt. Dry with a paper towel.

Use a cutting board and a small knife (about 12 cm) to trim the skins. Check if the fruits have any soft spots — remove those parts with the knife.

Peel the banana (remove the skin and discard it) and the orange: peel it with a knife, removing the skin and the white membranes (albedo), then divide it into clean segments. If you prefer, squeeze 1-2 tablespoons of fresh orange juice from the skin into a cup and set aside.

Use a sharp knife to peel the oranges and a pan to squeeze the juice or a manual juicer. Removing the white membranes will enhance the flavor of the cocktail (avoiding bitterness).

Cut the apple and pear into quarters, remove the cores and hard parts, then dice the flesh into 1–2 cm cubes. Place the chopped fruit in a bowl. If you don't want the apple skin, peel it before cutting (the skin contains a lot of fiber and flavor).

Use a cutting board and a sharp, long knife for easier slicing. Be careful with your fingers when removing the seed cores — it's best to cut them out with the knife from the sides of the quarters.

Blending

In the blender jar (or a tall container for an immersion blender), first add the soft banana and pieces of apple and pear, then add the orange segments, natural yogurt (200 g), and cranberry juice (200 ml). If you want to sweeten it, add 15 g of honey (optional). Close the blender lid.

Use a jug blender with a power of at least 500 W or an immersion blender with a tall container. First, add the soft ingredients to facilitate blending, and place the harder ones at the bottom (of the jug) – this improves circulation. Do not fill the jug more than 3/4 full to avoid splashing.

Blend on medium to high speed for about 45–60 seconds. After this time, stop the blender and check the consistency: the smoothie should be smooth and pourable, but not too runny. If there are larger pieces, blend for another 20–30 seconds. If the consistency is too thick, add 30–60 ml of cranberry juice or water and blend again for 10–15 seconds.

If you are using an immersion blender, blend in pulses and move the tip up and down to achieve a smooth consistency. Avoid blending for too long (>2 min), as the drink may overheat and lose its freshness.

Seasoning and cooling

Taste the cocktail and adjust with honey if you prefer a sweeter flavor. If you want to achieve a festive aroma, add a very small pinch of cinnamon (optional — no more than 1/4 teaspoon). After seasoning, pour the cocktail into a pitcher and place it in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes to chill nicely.

When adding cinnamon, remember that it is intense — it's better to add less and taste again. Cooling for 10–15 minutes does not change the consistency, but it improves the perception of the aromas.

Serving

Pour the cocktail into 4 tall glasses (about 250–300 ml each). On top of each serving, sprinkle 10–15 g of pomegranate seeds (optional) for decoration and texture contrast. You can also add a small sprig of fresh mint as a garnish.

Use 4 identical dessert glasses or cocktail glasses for an elegant presentation. If you plan to serve immediately, there is no need for long chilling.

Cleaning and Storage

After serving, immediately wash the blender and tools with warm water and dish soap. Store any unused smoothie in a tightly sealed pitcher in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours; before serving, shake vigorously, as natural juices may separate.

Do not store the cocktail for longer than 24 hours (fresh fruits lose flavor and nutritional value). If you plan to prepare it the day before, it's better to store the juice and chopped fruits separately and blend just before serving.

Serve chilled in clear glasses to highlight the color. For an elegant presentation, use dessert cups or wine glasses and garnish with pomegranate seeds and a mint leaf. For children, omit the addition of cinnamon and honey.

Store in the refrigerator for a maximum of 24 hours in a sealed pitcher. Before serving, shake or stir — natural separation is normal. Do not freeze the cocktail, as the texture of the fruit will change after thawing.
