Lingonberry jam
Description
Cranberry jam is characterized by a vibrant, deep red color and a glossy consistency, often with small, firm fruits or a smooth mass of completely crushed berries. The taste is distinctly tart-fruity with a pleasant, slightly astringent note and subtle sweetness, making it a bold addition to dishes. Nutritionally, cranberries provide antioxidants, vitamin C, and fiber, and regular, moderate consumption may support the immune system and cardiovascular health, as well as have anti-inflammatory effects. However, it is important to remember that the jam contains added sugar, so it is advisable to choose lower sugar versions or use it sparingly. Cranberry jam pairs perfectly with cheeses, bread, pancakes, yogurt, as an addition to game meats and sauces, and in baked goods. Store in a cool, dark place before opening; after opening, keep in the refrigerator in a sealed jar and consume within 4–6 weeks, or portion and freeze for longer storage.
