Greenhouse cucumber
Description
Greenhouse cucumber is a long, uniformly green cucumber with a thin skin and crunchy, juicy flesh; it has a delicate, fresh taste with a slight bitterness, making it a versatile addition to vegetable dishes and desserts. It contains very few calories and is mainly composed of water, while providing vitamins K and C, potassium, fiber, and antioxidants, which support hydration, digestion, skin health, and weight control. In the kitchen, it works well raw in salads, sandwiches, and tzatziki, as an ingredient in cold soups, salsas, and sushi, as well as lightly pickled as a refreshing addition. To maintain freshness, store it in the refrigerator in a cooler, but not too dry place, preferably wrapped in a paper towel in a perforated bag, separate from fruits that emit ethylene; consume within about 5–7 days.
