Dried apples
Description
Dried apples have a concentrated, sweet-tart flavor with a hint of caramelization and a pleasant, chewy texture; their appearance is thin, wrinkled slices or small pieces with an amber-brown color. Due to the evaporation of water, the flavor becomes more intense, and the aroma sweeter than in fresh fruits. Nutritionally, dried apples provide dietary fiber, potassium, and antioxidants, serving as a convenient source of energy and supporting digestion and a feeling of fullness, although they contain concentrated sugars, so it's worth controlling portions. Culinary uses include snacks, additions to muesli, bread and cakes, composing salads, stewed meats or desserts, and soaking for sauces and compotes. To preserve flavor and texture, store dried apples in an airtight container in a cool, dry, and dark place; in the fridge or freezer, you will extend their shelf life.
