Preparation steps
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to rest.
After cooling, roll the dough out into a very thin sheet. Use a knife or pastry wheel to cut rectangles measuring about 10x3 cm. In the center of each rectangle, make a slit and thread one end through the opening, forming a twist.
Heat the oil to 180°C. Fry the angel wings in batches until golden brown, about 1 minute on each side. Drain on paper towels.
Before serving, dust the angel wings generously with powdered sugar.
Fun Fact
Angel wings have their roots in carnival tradition, and their name 'chrust' comes from the crispy texture they achieve after frying. In some regions of Poland, angel wings are served with the addition of rum or vanilla, which gives them a unique aroma.

Tips
Faworki are best served on a large plate, generously sprinkled with powdered sugar. They can be decorated with fresh fruits or mint sprigs for an extra effect. Serve them at room temperature to maintain their crispiness.
Store leftover angel wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator, where they will last up to 3 days. To restore their crispiness, heat them in the oven for a few minutes at 180°C.
