Faworki, also known as chrust, are crispy cookies fried in deep fat and dusted with powdered sugar. This traditional Polish dessert is crunchy and delicate, perfect for Carnival or Fat Thursday. Preparing them requires a bit of patience, but the result will delight any sweet pastry lover.

Preparation steps
Roll out the dough into a thin sheet, about 2 mm thick. Cut into strips 3 cm wide and 10 cm long.
Make a slit in the middle of each strip and twist it through the hole, creating the characteristic shape of angel wings.
Heat oil in a deep pot to 180°C. Fry the angel wings in batches until golden brown on both sides.
Remove the angel wings to a paper towel to drain excess fat. Transfer to a plate and generously sprinkle with powdered sugar.
