Prepare your workspace: set up a medium bowl or wide glass, a mixing spoon, a small plate, and a cutting board. Measure 300 ml of kefir using a measuring cup or fill a clean bottle to mark the level. Weigh 50 g of oats on a kitchen scale and set it next to the kefir.
Description
A simple, nutritious breakfast drink combining kefir with oatmeal and seasonal strawberries. This dish originates from the tradition of consuming fermented dairy drinks in Poland — kefir adds a pleasant acidity and probiotics, while the oatmeal provides fullness and a creamy texture. Serve chilled in a jar or glass for a quick breakfast or snack; it can be sweetened with honey, or topped with chopped nuts or seeds for crunch. Visually: whitish kefir with visible flakes and red pieces of strawberry, aesthetically arranged, perfect for spring mornings.

Preparation steps
Wash the strawberries under cold running water, dry them on a towel. Remove the stems and cut the fruit into small pieces — cubes about 5 mm will ensure they evenly release their flavor into the kefir. If you are not using strawberries, skip this step.
Pour 50 g of oats into a bowl, add 300 ml of kefir. Stir vigorously for 30 seconds with a spoon to ensure the oats are evenly soaked in the kefir. After mixing, let it sit for 3–5 minutes until the oats soften and the drink thickens. The desired result: the oats should be soft on the outside but retain a slight structure — the drink thickens but should not be completely runny.
Add the chopped strawberries to a bowl and gently mix so the fruit doesn't break apart completely. If you want a sweeter drink, add 1 teaspoon (5 g) of honey and mix again until dissolved. Taste and adjust with more honey or add more strawberries if needed.
Serve immediately in a glass or transfer to a jar with a lid if you're taking it to go. You can decorate it with half a strawberry on the rim of the container. The drink tastes best chilled.
Fun Fact
Kefir originates from the Caucasus and has been valued for its health benefits for centuries. In Poland, kefir became popular in the 20th century and is often served as an ingredient in simple, nutritious breakfasts.

Tips
Serve chilled, in a clear glass or jar. For variety, add a spoonful of chia seeds or chopped nuts just before consumption to maintain crunchiness. For a creamier consistency, blend everything briefly.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours; after a longer time, the flakes will soften significantly and the drink will become mushy. If you want to prepare it the day before, keep the flakes separate and combine just before eating.
