Description

Strong espresso is an intense, concentrated brew with a deep, dark amber color and a thick, creamy crema on the surface. The flavor is dominated by a bitter, roasted note with noticeable acidity and chocolate-nutty accents that depend on the origin and roast level of the beans. As a beverage product, espresso provides virtually zero fat and sugars, very few calories, and a relatively high content of caffeine and antioxidants (e.g., chlorogenic acids), which, when consumed in moderation, can improve alertness, metabolism, and protect against oxidative stress, although excessive caffeine has side effects.
