Description

Cottage cheese is a white, grainy cheese with a delicate, slightly tangy flavor and a creamy, though granular, texture; available in low-fat, semi-fat, and full-fat versions, ranging from fresh and moist to more compact. It is a rich source of high-quality protein, calcium, and B vitamins, as well as a low-carbohydrate product that promotes satiety, muscle building, and bone health; fresh cottage cheese may also contain beneficial bacteria cultures that affect gut flora.
