Filtered water
Description
Filtered water has a neutral, slightly "clean" taste and a crystal-clear appearance, free from odors and visible impurities. Depending on the filter, it may retain trace amounts of minerals or be virtually free of dissolved substances, providing no calories or macronutrients. Its main health benefits come from hydrating the body: it supports the transport of nutrients, thermoregulation, kidney functions, and digestion, and regular consumption helps maintain electrolyte balance, especially during physical activity. In the kitchen, filtered water works universally as a base for cooking soups, sauces, baking cakes, or preparing drinks and coffee, enhancing the flavor of dishes by eliminating the aftertaste of chlorine or metals. It should be stored in a sealed, clean container, in a cool and shaded place or in the refrigerator, and used within 48–72 hours of filtration to minimize the risk of bacterial growth.
