Wash the lime, cilantro, and tomato under cold water. Peel the onion and trim the ends. Peel the garlic cloves. Cut the tomato in half and use a spoon to remove the seeds and excess juice (leave the flesh). Dice the tomato into small cubes — it should be without excess liquid.
Description
Creamy, light green guacamole traditionally made with avocado, lime, red onion, and fresh cilantro, served with homemade, crispy tortilla pieces. This snack is inspired by Mexican cuisine, infused with a Polish twist of seasonal ingredients — perfect for a Halloween party thanks to its vibrant green color and the possibility of creating decorative 'eyes' or spiders with sour cream and chili. The guacamole is both delicate and aromatic: juicy lime and cumin highlight the richness of the avocado, while fresh tomatoes and onion add texture. Serve as an appetizer for parties, soups, roasted meats, or as a healthy snack. Visually striking, quick, and easy to serve — it also works great in a spicy version or with sour cream for contrast.

Preparation steps
Guacamole - preparing the ingredients
Guacamole - cutting the avocado
Cut the avocado in half lengthwise, sliding the knife around the pit. Carefully remove the pit with a spoon or by striking it with the knife blade and pulling it out (be cautious). Scoop the flesh from the half into a large bowl with a spoon. Cut the flesh into larger pieces with a knife in the bowl before mashing — this will make it easier to control the texture.
Guacamole - flavoring
Grate the zest of one lime thinly over a bowl (be careful not to grate the white part), then cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice into the bowl. Add finely chopped red onion, finely chopped garlic, tomato flesh, and chopped cilantro (save some leaves for garnish). Add cumin and 2 g of salt, along with a pinch of pepper. Pour in a tablespoon of rapeseed oil.
Guacamole - mashing and adjusting the flavor
Using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocado in a bowl to your desired consistency — 1–2 minutes for creamy, 3–4 minutes for smoother. Combine the mashed avocado with the prepared mixture from the previous step and mix well. Taste and season with lime juice and salt if needed. The guacamole should be creamy, with noticeable chunks of vegetables.
Guacamole - optional toppings
If you want spicy guacamole, finely chop the green chili pepper and add it gradually, mixing and tasting. Additionally, you can add sour cream as a decoration: use a small spoon to place the cream in several spots and gently create a 'web' or 'dots' with a toothpick.
Tortilla - preparation
Preheat the oven to 200°C with convection. Place the tortilla wraps on a board, stack them on top of each other, and using a knife or slicer, cut into triangles into 6–8 wedges (you will get 6–8 chips from one wrap). Spread the triangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer, do not overlap them.
Tortilla - baking
Lightly brush each piece with rapeseed oil (you can use a spray). Sprinkle with a thin layer of salt and a bit of cumin, if you like. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 8–12 minutes, until the edges are golden and the chips become crispy. Remove and let cool for a few minutes (the firmness and crunchiness will increase as they cool).
Serving and decoration
Transfer the guacamole to a shallow bowl or a flat plate. If you are using sour cream, dollop it on and use your finger or a toothpick to create Halloween decorations (eye sockets, spider webs). Garnish with a few cilantro leaves and slices of chili pepper (if using). Arrange tortilla chips around the bowl or in a separate dish. Serve immediately — best fresh and green.
Final Tips
Serve the guacamole immediately after preparation, with baked tortilla chips. For a larger gathering, prepare separate bowls, pressing plastic wrap against the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
Fun Fact
Guacamole has pre-Columbian roots — the Aztecs consumed mashed avocado as early as the 16th century. The name comes from the Nahuatl language: 'ahuacamolli' (avocado + sauce).

Tips
Serve guacamole in a wide, shallow bowl sprinkled with a bit of chopped cilantro. Decorate with sour cream in the shape of 'eyes' or a 'spiderweb' for a Halloween effect. Serve with warm, freshly baked chips and extra lime wedges.
Store in the refrigerator covered with plastic wrap touching the surface or in an airtight container for up to 24 hours. To minimize browning, sprinkle the surface with lime juice before covering. Store the chips separately in an airtight container for up to 2 days — they lose their crunch after a longer time.
