Sour cream (18%)
Description
Sour cream 18% has a creamy, smooth texture and a pleasantly sour, mild taste that enhances dishes without overpowering them. Its delicate whiteness and moderate fat content make it lighter than full-fat cream while still maintaining a velvety structure. It contains protein, calcium, and fat-soluble vitamins, and when fermented, beneficial bacteria that support gut flora; however, it is worth remembering to consume it in moderation due to its calorie content and saturated fats. In the kitchen, sour cream works perfectly as an addition to soups, sauces, dips, salads, and baked dishes, softening spiciness and adding creaminess to desserts. Store it in the refrigerator at a temperature of 2–7°C, in its original packaging or an airtight container, use a clean spoon, and consume within a few days after opening; avoiding freezing will prevent the texture from separating.
