Chili flakes
Description
Chili flakes are dried, crushed pods of peppers with an intense red color, often with visible seeds. They have a sharp, spicy heat with a fruity-smoky note that easily enhances the flavor of dishes without overpowering other ingredients. They are low in calories and rich in capsaicin and antioxidants, as well as providing small amounts of vitamin C, vitamin A, and minerals. Regular, moderate consumption may support metabolism, have anti-inflammatory effects, and alleviate pain, although it can cause irritation in the digestive system for sensitive individuals. In the kitchen, chili flakes are suitable for pizza, sauces, marinades, soups, meat and vegetable dishes, and Asian cuisine, pairing well with olive oil, honey, and lemon juice. Store them in an airtight container away from light and moisture, preferably in a cool, dry place; for longer preservation of aroma, they can be kept in the refrigerator.
