Semi-fat cottage cheese
Description
Semi-fat cottage cheese is a white, slightly grainy cheese with a creamy consistency and a mild, slightly tangy flavor. Once ground, it becomes smooth and easy to spread while maintaining a subtle cheese structure that blends well with other ingredients. From a nutritional standpoint, it is an excellent source of high-quality protein (about 12–18 g/100 g), contains a moderate amount of fat (usually 6–12%), is a good source of calcium and B vitamins, and has a relatively low carbohydrate content, which supports muscle building, a feeling of fullness, and bone health. In the kitchen, it serves universally as a base for spreads, filling for dumplings and pancakes, an ingredient in cheesecakes, fritters, or sauces and salads, as well as an addition to sweet desserts with fruits and honey. Store in the refrigerator at a temperature of 2–6°C in its original packaging or an airtight container; once opened, it is best consumed within 3–5 days. Freezing may alter the texture, so short refrigeration storage and checking the expiration date are recommended.
