Balsamic cream
Description
Balsamic cream is a thick, glossy reduction of balsamic vinegar with a sweet-sour, slightly caramel flavor and a dark brown, almost syrupy consistency. In homemade versions, it is created through long evaporation, while commercial varieties are often enriched with grape juice or sugar, which increases the calorie content. Consumed in small amounts, it provides antioxidants from grapes and may support glycemic control due to its acetic acid content; however, due to concentrated sugars, it is advisable to limit portions. Balsamic cream perfectly enhances salads, caprese mozzarella, roasted vegetables, grilled meats, fish, and cheeses, as well as fruits and desserts. Before opening, it should be stored in a cool, dry, and dark place; after opening, it is better to keep it in the refrigerator or in a cool place and use it within a few months, avoiding contamination with a spoon.
