Description
Cinnamon sticks are hard, curled pieces of bark with a warm, brown hue and an intense aroma: a sweet-spicy flavor with woody notes and a slightly spicy bitterness that adds depth to dishes. In the kitchen, they work well in both sweet and savory dishes — suitable for baking, desserts, oatmeal, hot drinks, meat sauces, and marinades, as well as an aromatic spice for stewed vegetables and compotes. Nutritionally, cinnamon sticks contain few calories, fiber, and phytochemicals with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties; studies suggest they may support metabolism and help regulate blood glucose levels, although they do not replace treatment.
